【摘要】:Itisimportanttoevaluatethecorrosionresistanceofferrousmetalcomponentsusedinlow-sloperoofingandwaterproofingbecausetheyprovideintegrityandsecurementofothersystemcomponents,suchasinsulationandmembranes.Corrosionofferrousmetalcomponentsmayresultintheirearlydeteriorationandmayleadtoroofingorwaterproofingsystemfailure.Resultsfromtestingferrousmetalcomponentsinanacidicatmosphereserveasanindicationoftherelativecorrosionresistanceofsuchcomponents,coatedoruncoated,totheenvironmentofthetestchamber.Theresultsarenottobeconstruedasageneralguidelinetothecorrosionresistanceofsuchcomponentsinotherenvironmentsorinusagethatmaybeconducivetocorrosion.Moistaircontainingsulfurdioxidequicklyproduceseasilyvisiblecorrosiononmanyferrousmetals.Itisthereforeatestmediumsuitedtodetectporesorothersourcesofweaknessinprotectivebarriercoatings.Thistestmethodappliesprimarilytoevaluatingtheeffectivenessofbarriercoatingstoprovidegeneralcorrosionprotectionundertestconditions.Itisnotintendedtoevaluatetheresistanceofthecomponentstospecificcorrosionmechanismssuchascrevice,galvanic,orstresscorrosion.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressabrasionresistanceofbarriercoatingswhenthefastenersaredriventhroughaboveroofdeckcomponents,suchasanexistingbuilt-uprooforinsulations,orboth.Onlytheabovedeckportionoffastenerssubjectedtothistestmethodisevaluated.1.1Thistestmethodcoverscomponentsofferrousmetalfastenerassemblies,excludingthoseofstainlesssteel,suchasfasteners,stressplates,andbattenbarsusedinlowsloperoofingandwaterproofing,toasulfurousacidenvironment.Thistestmethodevaluatesrelativecorrosionresistanceofthecomponentsbydeterminationofpercentageofrustorwhiterust.1.2Thecomponentsmayormaynothaveasurfacetreatmentapplied.1.3Alimitingfactoristhesubjectivenesswhendeterminingactualpercentageofrustorwhiterustcorrosion.1.4Otherperformancecharacteristicsofferrousmetalcomponentssuchasabrasionresistanceofbarriercoatingsarenotevaluatedinthismethod.1.5ThistestmethodwasdevelopedbasedonPracticeG87.1.6ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
