【摘要】:Theexteriorbuildingenvelopeanditscomponents(forexample,windowsanddoors)separatetheinteriorconditionedspacesfromexteriorenvironmentalfactorssuchasheat,cold,rain,wind,noisedust,etc.Buildingmaterialsandcomponentscanexpandorcontracttovaryingdegrees,dependingonseasonalanddiurnalexteriorambientairtemperatures.Fluctuationsintheambientairtemperaturescanalterthesealingcharacteristicsofwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsbychangingweathersealcompressionratios.Thermalexpansionorcontractionofframingmaterialscoupledwiththermalblowingduetotemperaturegradientsthroughtheproduct,andalterationsintheeffectiveleakageareasduetoweathersealshrinkageandcompressionset,canalsosignificantlyaltertheairleakageratesoftheseproductsinfieldserviceapplications.AirleakagetestsperformedusingTestMethodE283(alaboratoryairleakagetestperformedatambienttemperatureconditions)willnotaccountaccuratelyforchangesinairleakageratesthatmayoccurfromdimensionalchangesinfenestrationsystems,materials,andcomponents.Itisrecommendedthattestspecifiersconsultthemanufacturerforrecommendedtesttemperatureextremes.Thisprocedureprovidesameansforevaluatingairleakageratesoffenestrationsystemsundervarioustemperatureandpressureconditionsandairflowdirections.Itisalsoapplicableforuseinevaluatingtheefficiencyofweathersealingproductsinfenestrationsystems.Allairflowratesareconvertedtostandardconditionstoprovideameansofcomparisonbetweenmeasurementsmadeatdifferentambientairtemperatureandpressureconditions.Airleakageratesaresometimesusedforcomparisonpurposes.Suchcomparisonsmaynotbevalidunlessthecomponentsbeingtestedandcomparedareofessentiallythesamesize,configuration,anddesign.1.1Thistestmethodprovidesastandardlaboratoryprocedurefordeterminingtheairleakageratesofexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsunderspecifieddifferentialairtemperatureandpressureconditionsacrossthespecimen.1.2Specifiedtemperatureandpressureconditionsarerepresentativeofthosethatmaybeencounteredattheexteriorthermalenvelopeofbuildings,excludingtheeffectsofheatbuildupduetosolarradiation.1.3Thislaboratoryprocedureisapplicabletoexteriorwindows,curtainwalls,anddoorsandisintendedtomeasureonlysuchleakageassociatedwiththeassemblyandnottheinstallation;however,thetestmethodcanbeadaptedforthelatterpurpose.1.4Thisisalaboratoryprocedurefortestingatdifferentialtemperatureconditions.PersonsinterestedinalaboratorytestatambientconditionsshouldreferenceTestMethodE283.PersonsinterestedinafieldtestoninstalledwindowsanddoorsshouldreferenceTestMethodE783.1.5Personsusingthisprocedureshouldbeknowledgeableintheareasofheattransfer,fluidmechanics,andinstrumentationpractices,andshallhaveageneralunderstandingoffenestrationproductsandcomponents.1.6ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Theinch-poundunitsgiveninparenthesisareprovidedforinformationonly.1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecifichazardstatements,seeSection7.
