【摘要】:ThetestmethoddescribedinthisstandardwillensurethatthethermometerslistedinSpecificationE1willindicatetemperatureswithinthemaximumscaleerrorslisted,becompatiblewiththeapparatus,andservethepurposeforwhichtheyweredesigned.Fig.1Thermometersthatdonotpassthevisualanddimensionalinspectiontestsmaygiveerroneouslyhighorlowtemperaturereadings,ormaynotfitintoexistingequipmentusedinASTMmethods.Ifthepigmentinthescaleetchingswashesoutorfades,thethermometerwillbedifficulttoread.Improperannealingofthebulb,asdeterminedbythebulbstabilitytest,willresultinthermometerreadingsrapidlychangingwithtimeanduse.Foraccuratetemperaturemeasurementsthescalereadingsofthethermometershouldbeverifiedasdescribedinthistestmethod.FIG.1OvenforPermanencyofPigmentTest1.1Thistestmethodcoversvisualanddimensionalinspection,testforpermanencyofpigment,testforbulbstability,andtestforscaleaccuracytobeusedintheverificationofliquid-in-glassthermometersasspecifiedinSpecificationE1.However,theseproceduresmaybeappliedtootherliquid-in-glassthermometers.Note18212;TheuseofNISTSP250-23isrecommended.1.2Warning-MercuryhasbeendesignatedbyEPAandmanystateagenciesasahazardousmaterialthatcancausecentralnervoussystem,kidneyandliverdamage.Mercury,oritsvapor,maybehazardoustohealthandcorrosivetomaterials.Cautionshouldbetakenwhenhandlingmercuryandmercurycontainingproducts.SeetheapplicableproductMaterialSafetyDataSheet(MSDS)fordetailsandEPAx2019;swebsite-http://www.epa.gov/mercury/faq.htm-foradditionalinformation.Usersshouldbeawarethatsellingmercuryand/ormercurycontainingproductsintoyourstatemaybeprohibitedbystatelaw.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Themeasurementoftheturbidityofliquidscanbecarriedoutvisuallyorbyinstrument,butvisualmethodscanbesubjective.Thismethodmeasuresinstrumentallythescatteringoflightbytheinsolublematterinaliquidandthereforegivesanobjectivedeterminationofturbidity.Turbidityinliquidsiscausedbythepresenceofundissolvedmatter(i.e.non-settlingflocculation,gelsorothersuspendedmattersuchasparticlesordroplets).Inthecaseoffinelydispersedundissolvedmatter,theturbiditymaybedeterminedbymeasuringtheintensityofthelightwhichisscatteredbytheparticleswhenabeamoflightispassedthroughtheliquid.ThisInternationalStandardspecifiesaninstrumentalmethodfordeterminingtheturbidityofclearliquids.Itisapplicabletoresinsandresinsolutions,solvents,clearcoatingmaterials,monomersandanyotherliquidswhereclarityisspecified.
